Behind-the-Scenes Of Our New Book: Fun Chapter Openers!

One of my favorite parts of working on our two books, including our newest, Paper Goods Projects (coming out this Tuesday, August 11th...woohoo!), was collaborating with creative director/designer Robin Rosenthal on our photographic chapter openers. As I mentioned in this post, she knew that Amy and I wanted typography created out of the actual supermarket materials we used and crafted projects from the book and she conceived inspired chapter openers that did just that.  There are four chapters in Paper Good Projects: Coffee Filters & Cupcake Papers, Paper Plates, Bags & Doilies, Balloons, and Recycling Bin.

 In the Balloons chapter, we painted, glued, taped, and twisted balloons into clowns, ballerinas, animals, planets, flowers, and more!

Our Coffee Filter and Cupcake Paper chapter includes ideas for making paper flowers, cards, dollhouse furniture, birds, cake toppers and more!

We show how to make masks, flowers, butterflies, favor bags and more in our Paper Plates, Paper Bags, and Doilies chapter.

Recycled materials like paper towel tubes, cereal boxes, and corrugated cardboard were used to make animals, party and holiday decorations, cards, and giant blocks in our Recycling Bin chapter.
